About
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who holds a Master’s Degree in Community Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and have been working in the field of mental health for over 20 years. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings including outpatient community mental health, psychiatric emergency room, department of corrections and acute inpatient psychiatric care. I provide therapy for adults while addressing a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress/life adjustment issues, relationship problems, finding meaning or purpose in life, gender identity and mixed racial identity issues, postpartum depression & psychosis, as well as helping individuals & families cope with a recent diagnosis of a mood and or thought disorder.
I use an eclectic blend of treatment modalities including: Strength Based, Cognitive & Dialectical Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, as well as Humanistic & Positive Psychology. I recognize that every individual is different, and when they are struggling to navigate life they deserve a support system/approach that is uniquely tailored to their strengths. Each and every person is of value and so is their story that they have to tell. I believe that therapy offers opportunities for new learning, skill building, self-discovery, as well as empowerment and healing. I am of the holistic & humanistic soul. Every being deserves to experience life's moments with unconditional support. I believe in the power of humor, mindfulness, and gratitude.
Therapy work shouldn’t just put a band-aid over your problems and send you out the door. We will work together to find a pace that suits your comfort level, good therapy works to help you to heal on a deeper level. This process can produce fundamental and substantial changes, the kind of changes that go the distance.
